The Melbourne Institute’s definition of poverty in terms of combined household income was cited in an Australian Financial Review piece about Elaine Henry the retiring Chief Executive Officer of the Smith Family.
The Melbourne Institute defines poverty for a household consisting of two adults and two children as having an income below $765.05 while for single parents it is below $549.34 per week.
