The BCOM & FMAA Case Competition
Following on from the success of the 2011 BCom Case Competition and the 2011 FMAA Case Competition at the University of Melbourne, the Faculty of Business and Economics and the FMAA have joined forces in 2012 to present a combined case competition with a format that will enable even more students to get involved. The 2012 BCom/FMAA Case Competition offers an opportunity for you to test your business case solving skills and get hands-on experience as a management consultant.
Teams who progress through to the heats will present to our sponsor representatives from: L.E.K. Consulting, Macquarie Group, Bain & Company and A.T. Kearney, in addition to senior academic staff from the Faculty of Business and Economics and notable University alumni.
Additionally, students of all year levels are welcome to attend consulting workshops which will be co-ordinated by our sponsors prior to registrations closing and can also watch the Heats and Finals presentations, on Monday 27 August.
The winner of the BCom/FMAA Case Competition will then proceed to the FMAA Case Competition’s National Final, where participants will compete against the campus winners of the Universities of Sydney, NSW and Queensland for a generous cash prize.
Additionally, competition participants will be well positioned to apply for places in the Faculty’s International Case Competition teams (where students are granted the opportunity to represent the University on the world stage in case competitions held in Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Montreal and Auckland) and to represent the University of Melbourne at the Australasian Case Competition in August 2012.
All of the Preliminary Rounds and the Final are open to the public!
Thus, don’t miss out on the opportunity to watch the best 16 teams present their analysis and strategic recommendations to representatives from our sponsor firms AT Kearney, L.E.K. Consulting, Bain and Company, Macquarie, in addition to International Case Competition alumni and senior academic staff.
