Alan Gilbert Mobility Scholarship for year-long exchange

May 28, 2012 in Global Mobility, Grants and Scholarships, Opportunities: Enrich, Experience and Enhance

The Alan Gilbert Mobility Scholarship is a new scholarship available to a student going on two semesters’ of exchange starting either in semester 2 2012 or semester 1 2013.

The Alan Gilbert Mobility Scholarship is a travelling scholarship established to honour the memory of the late Professor Alan Gilbert, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Melbourne (1996-2004). It is intended to assist students wishing to study overseas as part of their studies at the University of Melbourne.

Prof. Gilbert was instrumental in encouraging the University to extend beyond its physical and figurative boundaries to become a truly global institution. He also established the Melbourne Scholarships Program. It is fitting, therefore that his name should be associated with aiding students to study overseas providing life-changing and enduring academic, career, intercultural, personal, and social benefits, an increasingly important part of a university education.

The total value of the scholarship is $2755.35 and further information and details on how to apply can be found at http://www.mobility.unimelb.edu.au/outbound/funding/alan-gilbert-scholarship.html

In 2012 the due date for applications, for travel between August 2012 and July 2013, is Friday, 17 August 2012.
