What:             2013 ANZ Regional Graduate Program information session

Who:              Anyone that is interested in a career in agriculture, finance or management

When:            Tuesday 22nd of May – Lower Theatre, Parkville Campus 12-1pm

Presenters:     George Gatenby, Manager of Agribusiness Graduate Program, James McKeefry, State Agribusiness Manager (VIC), James Dunnett, 2012 Agribusiness Graduate/2011 Melbourne University Graduate George Gatenby, Manager of the Agribusiness Graduate program at ANZ will be presenting on 2013 opportunities at ANZ at Lower Theatre, Parkville Campus.  The presentation will include experiences of a current graduate and the opportunities available within ANZ.

The presentation will be followed with the opportunity to socialise and ask questions about career options within agriculture and career pathways available.  This will be a great opportunity to talk with two recent University graduates and their career paths.

Applications for the Regional Australia Graduate Program open on July 23rd.

The Melbourne Microfinance Initiative presents:

Lessons from the poor: A billion barefoot entrepreneurs?

Muhammad Yunus describes the poor as natural entrepreneurs. Are they really? A look at the businesses that the poor operate can provide some insight and help us better serve the poor.

Guest speakers: 

Fernando Tamayo returning Founder of MMI

Professor Jeff Borland of the Department of Economics

Our guest speakers will provide insight into the effectiveness of microfinance as a means of alleviating poverty and explore the businesses models of micro-entrepreneurs. The event aims to inspire and promote awareness of sustainable tools to fight poverty – and how you can use your University education to drive this change.

Microfinance in Africa

MMI and the Africa Club present: “Microfinance in Africa”. This conference focuses on microfinance efforts in the African region.

The event will feature prominent guest speakers including:

  • Ian Howie, former UN Director of Human Resources under Kofi Annan and current UN Representative For Papua New Guinea
  • Simon Griffiths, social entrepreneur and former Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Engineering student at The University of Melbourne
  • Jolynna Sinanan, academic researcher and current PhD candidate in Development Studies at The University of Melbourne

A networking session will follow the conference, where you will have the opportunity to chat to our guest speakers over some light refreshments.
