Commerce Interview Practice Workshop (small group session repeated)

Are you nervous about job interviews? If you have never done a job interview, or feel you need to gain more experience, here is your chance to learn about interviewing and gain experience practising your technique.

This session will provide you with an overview of behavioural interviews (the most commonly used interview style for graduate programs), techniques to prepare for these interviews and practise in answering behavioural questions.

The Couch – International Student Centre

Melbourne’s international students have a place to relax, socialise and access a range of support services. The Couch offers the following features:

  • provides a safe, non-commercial lounge space for international students
  • allows students to access support services and information
  • provides affordable meals at cost price to students
  • creates an environment where students can engage, socialise and interact
  • facilitates cultural exchange between local young people and international students though social activities such as footy nights, movie sessions and other activities held within the centre.

Located at 69 Bourke Street, Melbourne

The Couch is open Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursday nights  from 5pm to 9pm.

International Student City Ambassador Program

City Ambassador volunteers are trained volunteers who rove the city centre retail core in distinctive red uniforms answering all kinds of queries from Melbourne’s diverse community – from people who’ve come from across the world to those who’ve come from across town.

Volunteers provide their services without financial payment and offer a friendly and informative welcome to visitors.

The International Student City Ambassador Program encourages international students to get involved and be trained as a City Ambassador for a three-month period.

This new program is designed to help international tertiary students currently studying in Melbourne.

The Council of International Students Australia (CISA) is looking for an international student who has demonstrated academic excellence and dedicated a portion of his or her time to help others.

CISA International Student of the Year Award applications close on the 30th of May

The applications for CISA’s national student award close on Wednesday the 30th of May. If you know of an inspirational international student then please urge them to apply.

CISA International Student of the Year award is about recognizing the significant contribution that International Students make to the Australian community. We are looking for a well balanced international student, who has not only demonstrated academic excellence but also dedicated a portion of his or her time to help others and made a difference. 
 
Selection criteria
  • Demonstrated good academic progress while in Australia – Achieved a credit average during their period of enrolment or an official letter from the institute confirming good academic progress
  • Significant contribution towards the community while in Australia 
  • Demonstrated leadership, innovation and creativity in their work An inspirational role model particularly for students
