Upcoming Workshops

Bloomberg Terminal Training
Thursday 18th & Friday 19th of October from 12 to 2pm at the Melbourne Bloomberg Offices, L20, 101 Collins Street, Melbourne
Cainz members who have taken the BAT and will have the exclusive opportunity to attend Bloomberg Terminal Training at the Bloomberg offices in Melbourne. A Terminal Specialist from the Bloomberg Asia Head Office in Singapore will be here to conduct training on how to use the Bloomberg terminal.

BLOOMBERG IS NOW ALLOWING ALL CAINZ MEMBERS TO ATTEND THE TRAINING. YOU DO NOT NEED TO COMPLETE THE BAT TO ATTEND.

Recruitment

Applications for the Cainz Team will close on Friday, 19th of October. Please do send in your applications by this friday.

University Liaison
University Liaison is the link between Cainz and the Staff & Academics of the University. The role requires liaising and maintaining networks with those in the faculty, being responsible for faculty funding grants, as well as liaising with other Directors in areas where they need help from the faculty. We seek a responsible & friendly individual with excellent communication skills, confident in dealing with Faculty Staff.

Club Secretary
The Club Secretary position is an important part of the Cainz Leadership Board. Tasks include writing meeting minutes and post-meeting documents, coordinating divisions and having an intimate knowledge of the various projects occurring in CAINZ at a given moment, as well as assisting the President and Board in communicating time priorities between branches. A positive attitude and a friendly demeanor is a must.

Membership Liaison Support Officer
Membership Liaison is the communication link between the members of Cainz and the Board of Directors. He/She is also responsible for the recruitment of new members as well as the point of contact for any queries and concerns members or non-members may have. We are seeking a responsible and organized individual, with excellent communication skills to assist the Director of Membership, especially during the Orientation Week of Semester 1, 2013.

Events Support
Events Support assists the Director of Events in the planning and execution of the many events that Cainz organizes throughout the year. Events Support is key to ensuring the success of Cainz events, and we seek an enthusiastic and positive individual to be a part of this exciting team.

Marketing Support
Marketing Support assists the Director of Marketing in promoting the Cainz brand, as well as the many events and workshops that Cainz organizes throughout the year. We require a creative and responsible individual who can assist us in effectively promoting Cainz next year.

Industrial Liaison Support
Industrial Liaison assists the Director of Industrial Liaisons with designing proposals and contacting industry figures to participate in Cainz. We seek an outgoing individual with developed interpersonal skills and a critical mind that can integrate the needs and value to university, firms and Cainz members.

Workshop Support
Workshops are an important part of Cainz, providing educational activities to members, to develop their employability and knowledge. You will work with the Director of Workshops to not only develop the educational curriculum, but also help run these events for members as well as maintain relationships with current industry and academic contacts. We require an enthusiastic and responsible individual for this role, with a desire for education and professional knowledge.
We are also recruiting Editors our Cainz Digest next year

Senior Editor
Senior Editors play a very important role within the Cainz Research Department. You will be required to edit an article every two weeks written by a research team and provide support and supervision to assigned research group. We are looking for individuals with a sound knowledge of financial markets with very good written and spoken English.

Layout Editor
Layout Editors Compiles The Cainz Digest every week and modify and develop our publication template as and when required for Cainz publications. We require a creative individual with good artistic touch with a good work ethic.

Language Editors
Language Editors performs language checks on the Cainz Digest articles every two weeks. We require individuals with excellent written English and a good work ethic.

Internship & Career Research Training Workshop
Thursday 30th August from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Multifunction Room, Level 1 of the Spot.
Cainz and the Business & Economics Career Centre (BECC) are pleased to present our first workshop of the semester. Presented by Agnes Banyasz and Kristin Baumann of the BECC, this workshop is designed to increase your self-awareness and awareness about potential career opportunities within the finance industry. Also learn more about advanced job market research methods and skills. The workshop uses material from the Graduate Careers Program‘SKIL90003’ as well as other up-to-date career development and industry sources. We will also have three students discussing their internship experiences with Commonwealth Bank, JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank; as well as their motivations and successful preparation for internship applications.

Industry Panel Night
Wednesday 5th September from 5:30pm to 7pm at Theatre 1 of 207 Bouverie Street.
Professionals from around the industry are invited to answer your questions about all things Finance. Our panel will include representatives from Morgan Stanley, Evan & Partners and PwC. Members are encouraged to submit questions to our panel, and the top 8 questions will be invited to our exclusive catered networking event afterwards with our panel and other important guests. It looks to be a very insightful night for all our members, and we do hope you will join us for this exclusive event.

Cainz is having two big events this week:

  • Cainz Social Night

We will be having our start of semester Social Night on Friday 3rd August from 5.30pm to 8pm at the Queensberry Hotel, 593 Swanston Street, Carlton (Corner of Swanston St and Queensberry St). Free Drinks and finger food will be served first in, best dressed basis so please do come on time! We have also arranged special student deals on the other drinks and food available at the bar. Note that there is a Smart-Casual dress code and this is a Cainz members-only event, so please bring along your Cainz membership card or your UniMelb student card.

The Social Night is a great opportunity to meet other Cainz members and make some new friends, so even if you are a brand new member please do not hesitate to come on down. It promises to be a fun and relaxing night, we hope to see everyone there!

  • Research Briefing

For all members interested in writing for our Cainz Research Publication this semester, it is essential that you attend the Research Briefing Tuesday 31st July at 207 Bouverie Street, B113 at 5.30pm. Please do come down to see what big plans we have for this semester and how you can get involved. With over 30 members already committed, spots are limited so don’t miss out!
