ESSA Networking and Trivia Night

Our members at both Melbourne and Monash will have the chance to meet with representatives from our sponsors and alumni from some of Melbourne’s leading universities.

The night will begin with a networking session and will then be followed by trivia. The night allows for networking to occur in a more informal and relaxed setting than usual, with the opportunity to discuss career paths, graduate programs and post-graduation options. ESSA

ESSA & CAINZ Co-host ‘Writing on Economics’ Workshop

ESSA and CAINZ are proud to cohost a ‘Writing on Economics’ workshop from world-renowned economist and journalist, Martin Wolf.ESSA

Martin Wolf is an Economics graduate from the University of Oxford and current Associate Editor and Chief Economics Commentator at the Financial Times.

Martin Wolf is one of the leading minds of our time. Over a forty year career, he has received many awards from government, academic and media spheres. Professor Wolf has been listed in Foreign Policy’s “Top 100 Global Thinkers” list multiple times.

Mohamed A. El-Erian, CEO PIMCO: “by far, the most influential economic columnist out there”.

ESSA Staff-of-Writers Competition

Have an interest in a particular Economics issue? Interested in expressing your opinion on paper? ESSA is releasing its first biannual publication at the end of this semester, and we want our members to be a part of it!

ESSA will be running a ‘Members’ Article Competition’ in which the most outstanding submissions will be featured in the hardcopy publication at the end of the year.

Your piece should be no longer than one A4 page, and must be submitted by Week 4 by email to ‘publications@economicstudents.com‘. So if you are interested in having your economic thoughts and ideas published in our magazine, email ‘publications@economicstudents.com‘ with the subject ‘Writers’ Competition’ and they will email you with more details when they are released. Alternatively, keep an eye on our website, economicstudents.com, for all the details as they come.
